Morten Olsen has made the call that he will be leaving his position

After managing the Denmark national Football team for a long period of one and half decades, Morten Olsen has made the call that he will be leaving his position post the next Euro Cup.

Olsen has been one of the longest serving managers in international Football in the recent times. He had been appointed as the Denmark boss right back in 2000 and ever since, he has been there at that post.

Olsen has not only served Denmark as manager for so long, as a player too, he made a big contribution, being a part of the team for almost 19 years and winning more than 100 caps.

So, one can easily declare him as a role model for the youngsters in Denmark Football.

Nobody had actually expected the Wily manager to make this announcement at this point of time. It was believed he would decide anything over his future once the Danish are done with the Euro, but, Olsen wanted the Association to start looking for his successor already. So, he let them know his decision early.

The Association has 8-10 months time now and they can easily find the best replacement in this duration.

Also, Olsen needed some peace to work on his final assignment. According to him, if there had been discussions about his future, he might have been a little distracted. But, now, that he has made the announcement, he will manage to concentrate better.

Speaking in the press conference, the boss said, β€œIt was never really a job for me to be honest. I always saw it as lifestyle.”

When asked about the reason behind the early announcement, Olsen said, β€œI did not myself to be distracted with all the discussions going on. Also, now, the Association officials are in a position to take their time and find the right person for the job.”
