OKORE SET TO QUIT

The Danish international Jores Okore, who currently plays for the Danish club FC Nordsjaelland, has revealed that he will be quitting the club in the summer in order to play for a major club across Europe. Okore has been one of the new finds in European football after impressing with his club in the group stages of the Champions League. He was especially good in the matches against the European champions Chelsea. He was linked with a move to Chelsea in the January transfer window, but it failed to materialise. However, he is extremely confident that he will leave Nordsjaelland in the summer to play for either Chelsea or Manchester United.

It has been rumoured that the former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel personally recommended Okore to the manager Sir Alex Ferguson. As a result, United have been keeping tabs with the player for a while, while Liverpool have also shown interest in the player over the last couple of weeks. It is expected that any one of the big clubs from England will be making an official offer in the summer. Okore has confirmed that it is his desire to leave Nordsjaelland to play for the club, but he is hoping that the club accept his desire.

“This summer I should leave. That is the time when I have the biggest chance and I certainly hope that it will happen. It is still FCN who decide, but it is my plan to leave this summer. I had certainly hoped that I would be able to move right now. I want to prove myself on a higher level. But it is also difficult to join a new club in the middle of the season. I believe that it was not FC Nordsjaelland’s plan that I should leave during this transfer window,” said the Danish national.
