Hareide Happy with Viktor Fischer’s Move to Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough recently signed Viktor Fischer for around € 5 million from Ajax.

The Danish winger has been spoken of as one of the finest young and upcoming players available for the national team. Hence, it was not surprising that new Danish manager Age Hareide was happy to see the player sign for a Premier League team. Middlesbrough are back in the top division of English football after an extended absence. However, this has been seen as a positive thing for the club since it has allowed them to rebuild from the bottom up.

Almost every one of the squad is new and Middlesbrough will be hoping to stay up and enjoy several seasons of the Premier League once again. The vast sums of TV money set to flow into the club has allowed them to sign players likeFischer. Last season, he almost helped Ajax win the Dutch league title. The highly rated youngster made 28 appearances in the league and scored eight goals. Even though Middlesbrough have not enjoyed the best of players coming from Dutch football, the club are confident about Viktor Fischer being a success. Despite being only 22,Fischer has already made a nine appearances for the national team and scored two goals.

The move to Boro is expected to take him to the next level.“We don’t have many players like him – he’s strong, aggressive and has depth. I hope this kind of (performance) is a breakthrough for Fischer because we need an attacker like him. He played a big part in the victory. He was fantastic – outstanding – and it was really great to see. He has had a great tournament here in Japan, and now he’s going to Middlesbrough. If he plays, he’ll get even better,” said Hareide after witnessingFischer’s move to England.
