OLSEN BACKS GERMANY

The Denmark national team manager Morten Olsen has said that he is of the opinion that Germany will win the Euro 2012. Germany are one of the favourites to win the Euro 2012. However, they are not the only team that are the favourites to lift the title because of the presence of the Spanish national team. Germany have made it into the semifinals of the major tournaments in the last three occasions, with many regarding this tournament to be the final tournament in which they will get a trophy to show for their efforts. Germany will be facing Italy in the semi-final stage of the competition.

Denmark were in the same group containing Germany and Portugal. They were expected to finish as the bottom of the group, but they defied all the expectation by finishing in the third positions ahead of Netherlands. As a result, there has been glowing praise for the 62-year-old national team manager Morten Olsen. He has already faced Germany in the group stages. He has said that he has seen enough of Germany to convince him that they will win the tournament this time around. Even though Spain are one of the favourites, they have not been at their best so far.

“I would say that Germany are going to win the Euros. The Spaniards have been convincing as far as possession of the ball is concerned, but the Germans create chances more easily. Both teams have incredible offensive qualities, but Germany’s game is more dynamic. I have to say that Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique have been playing very well. Together with Mats Hummels and Daniel Agger, they have been the best defenders of the tournament,” said Morten Olsen. The 62-year-old is expected to continue as the national team manager of Denmark.
