ERIKSEN STARS IN WIN OVER WATFORD

Denmark national team playmaker Christian Eriksen has been a prominent figure for West London club Brentford who have almost secured Premier League football for at least one more season thanks to a run of three straight wins. The Bees are now up to 11th on the Premier League log after recording a third straight league victory via the 2-1 away win over struggling Watford on Saturday. Denmark international Eriksen was instrumental for Brentford during the win over the Hornets at Vicarage Road over the weekend.

Brentford took a one-lead into the halftime break thanks to the headed goal from  Denmark midfielder Christian Norgaard off the assist from Norwegian defender Kristoffer Ajer. Leading goalscorer Emmanuel Dennis took his tally to ten Premier League goals after his second half equaliser before the stoppage time header from Bees skipper Pontus Jansson sealed the three points for the visitors. Jansson scored from close range via his head after Danish star Eriksen delivered a delightful free kick towards his path.

At the end of the game, Brentford fans named Denmark international Eriksen their best player via a poll on the official Twitter account of the club as he was recognised for the quality shown during the win at the home of Watford.

The signing of Eriksen has been a big boost for the Bees and this is highlighted with the run of five straight wins in the games he has started since his free transfer move to the club during the winter transfer window. The Bees have won five of their last six matches in the Premier League with the one defeat from those games coming when Eriksen was absent due to Covid-19. The said game ended in a 2-1 defeat at the hands of hosts Leicester City. After the Leicester City game, Brentford have beaten Chelsea, West Ham United and Watford in their last three league games on the back of the defeat to Leicester City.
